A Philosophical Outlook

Despite the intense critics on the hyper consumption society, we are still experiencing its very beginning, being the most likely scenario its expansion all over the world. Neither ecological protests nor new, more sober models of consumption nor collaborative consumption will be enough to stop or even delay the extremely rapid development of the commodification of experiences and life styles.

BIOGRAPHY

Assistant professor of Philosophy, Knight of the Order of the Legion of Honor of France, Doctor Honoris causa of six international universities, with several books published in twenty languages. His research areas include changing values, lifestyles and behavior in developed western societies. He delivers talks and conferences around the world, addressing subjects like the ethics of business, individualism, luxury, consumption and modern lifestyles.
